  • I just got done reading a book on the Battle off Samar (it's the U.S. Navy version of the battle of Thermopylae) and I think it would be hard to make an accurate simulator based on WWII naval battles. Ship battles were fought over a space of about 15-20 miles (point-blank would be about 2 miles).

Granted, submarines could get in closer, but I would bet that the scale of battle would allow for some very crowded and frantic battles.

It'll be interesting to see how they balance the scale of the battle with the action in order to make it fun. Either way I'll probably pick this one up, only because after reading that book I'm hooked on WWII naval warfare.
