New Mafia 2 Trailer Debuts, Release Date Clarified

I've waited a long time for this game. The first Mafia was my favorite PC game of all time. GTA III was great but Mafia had better free play and more realistic police chases, better realism overall. Mafia was BETTER than GTA even after Vice City came out. Again because of better realism and free play! I never got tired of playing Mafia. Now I must admit GTA IV was a spectacular game although not for all the reasons why Mafia was such a great PC game. Mafia was awesome even without all the newer technology and extended missions. So I look very much forward to playing the new one and hope they kept the best features of the original game along with improvements in technology and graphics. They have a hard followup. I think the whole thing kinda went up in smoke when they unsuccessfully ported Mafia over to Playstation and XBox. It wasnt even the same game really! Than the original programmer walked and it took a long time to get back to it. BUT ironically GTA IV just did the same exact thing as they unsuccessfully ported their record selling game to PC. Fortunatly, the consoles are the most popular and they didnt need the PC sales to figure in their success. I was dissapointed because I like playing games on the PC. But Mafias success was in the PC world, it was a cult hit with all the websites, mods, etc. I hope they get it right!

I beat Mafia on my PC years ago and loved every second of it. What an amazing story! I can't wait for this game... so much better than the upcoming Godfather 2 game.

There are only a few games that I buy without even reading a review, and this will be one of them.

If only this one allows save anywhere. The evil savepoints and the unpatched auto race were the only flaws of the original.

o YES, 1950's cars! That means that they are MUCH faster than the cars in Mafia.

I loved how the game gave you a taste for speed when you had to steal the racecar, but after that everything was 3 times slower.

Mafia is for me one of the best Pc games I have played ever in my life... I'll always remember the outstanding effort and work they put into every detail.. how well pulished it was...the amazing soundtrack, jeez still today it looks even better than GTA IV ! (which still now I'm trying to make it work...) Rockstar should take example of the respect that 2K Czech have towards PC platform.

the trailer is not CG. it is in-game, and what you see is what you can expect when you play through the game.

Damn, the lighing models in modern game engines are getting so good these days! I hope it's that pretty during actual gameplay. I'm not even a Godfather/Goodfellas fan, but I might buy this game if the gameplay is as good as the graphics.

Yeesh. Playing this video from the front page hard locked my PC. All I had running was Steam and my mail browser in IE.

The original Mafia was outstanding (PC version). It is going to be a LONG wait until next fall for Mafia II to hit shelves... I think the wait may be lessened if I play the first game again.

Great trailer i was getting worried this game had been scrapped due to the lack of info on it in the last year. However that was a perfect enticer trailer. This will beat Godfather 2 hands down.

Love Mafia 1 and this looks to maybe even outdo the original.
