Total War Delay Brings Multiplayer Campaign Mode
by Nick Breckon, Dec 12, 2008 1:18pm PSTThe one-month delay of Creative Assembly's Empire: Total War (PC) has provided a surprise bonus: the eventual addition of a full campaign multiplayer mode to the strategy title.
"The additional time will allow us to implement the underlying technology for a much desired feature; a multiplayer campaign mode," wrote Creative Assembly's Mark O'Connell on the company's official forums.
"An opportunity to participate in the 1 versus 1 multiplayer campaign mode beta will be made available to all Empire Total War buyers post release."
The feature will mark the first time that the Total War series has allowed for multiplayer within the expansive campaign mode.

weve heard these promises before.... since shogun total war.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure the expansion for Shogun: Total War added a full-featured multiplayer campaign mode. I never did try it out myself, cause I couldn't find someone to play.

This is definitely a must have now.
Also I want to thank whoever decided to push back the release date to make sure the game was feature complete.
I'd like to see more games pushed back rather then getting rushed out the door to meet sales targets (GTA IV I'm looking at you).
