New Fallout 3 DLC Screenshots, Details: 4-5 Hours of Gameplay for $10
by Nick Breckon, Dec 10, 2008 6:35pm PSTThe first downloadable content for Bethesda's Fallout 3 should provide about "four or five hours" of gameplay, and will cost 800 Microsoft Points ($10) when it is released in January, according to developer Bethesda.

The Operation: Anchorage DLC will see Fallout survivors participating in the historical liberation of Anchorage from the Chinese Red Army by way of a virtual reality simulator.
"Operation: Anchorage focuses mainly on a combat/stealth path," said Bethesda DLC producer Jeff Gardiner to IGN. Gardiner noted that the pack will include new weapons, armor, achievements, and a "Covert Ops" perk.
"The player will have to use a lot of their standard combat skills, along with several new tools that will only be available in the downloadable content," he added. "These include interactive Strike Teams under the player's command and unique armor, weapons, and other exotic gadgets."
Gardiner also revealed a few details of the second and third packs, planned for February and March releases, respectively.
The second pack, titled The Pitt, will be set in Pittsburg, which apparently escaped nuclear annihilation.
"While Pittsburgh wasn't directly hit in the nuclear onslaught, it's still had years of decay. The surrounding water is also heavily irradiated, which tends to have an effect on those that live near it," said Gardiner.
Gardiner also revealed that the third DLC pack, Broken Steel, will increase the game's overall level cap. Broken Steel will also add new monsters and perks, and is set to allow players to continue exploring the wasteland after its completion.

You know what else I'd buy? More music for GNR. I love the songs they have, but there have got to be other songs that are just as cool as "Civilization", "Back Home", "Butcher Pete", etc.
Let's hear them!

I was expecting Fallout Tactics type gatling gun behavior, basically leaving behind what looks like an exploded L4D boomer when you open up on an enemy. What I got was dead after dropping 100 rounds into an Mutant brute.

IGN: Not to spoil the end of Fallout 3, but extending the story in the Broken Steel download might be a bit tricky. Will the main character still continue through for that storyline? Will he or she be usable in the other downloads?
Gardiner: Based on a lot of feedback, we're going to allow the player to continue on after the main quest ends in the Broken Steel DLC. While a lot of details still have to be sorted, this will allow the player to continue on and play in the Wasteland enjoying the side and freeform quests, along with any new downloadable content we have planned in the future.

I'd like to be able to play through everything with one character on one playthrough, not have to launch them seperately
