F.E.A.R. 2 Trailer Explains Story

  • I wonder if they'll learn from some of the mistakes of the first game. When FEAR 1 was announced, there was this long gameplay video (~10minutes?) which was one of the levels from the full game. Sadly, most of the cool and memorable scenes from the video were removed from the final level, like the elevator sequences and the com-chatter, which I thought added a lot.
    I know the making-of DVD talks about how they wanted to isolate the player, but I thought was a mistake. The com-chattter, if done well, would have really added to the immersion. I know they had cut stuff out, and the game went through many iterations, with even one cool car-chase level being cut and characters being cut. I thought that was some of the coolest stuff.

    I hope they make FEAR 2 less a lonely experience and look at their original trailer for inspiration. While FEAR 2 was great, the in-game gameplay video was better than the final game.
