Major Age of Conan Update Goes Live

Funcom today released what it calls the largest free update yet to its fantasy MMO Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures.

The free update adds a new outdoor area called Ymir's Pass, as well as a dungeon called The Amphitheater--the latter apparently containing an "epic" monster encounter.

I like AoC. I also like Warhammer, and I just started playing WoW again. I also keep an Eve account alive.

I also have a 60 hour a week job, a wife, and a new baby. I am going to have to make some hard decisions here. Right now, I am leaning toward WoW, with Warhammer right behind it. I think Warhammer has a LOT going for it, and if they can survive the Lich King drain they will be fine. Bad idea to bet against Mythic.

i'd love to play AoC again. i thought the grafx were excellent, but the game was missing so many things i look for in a rpg... like gear. wtf is the gear? i think they've patched it since i left, but while i played it the gear just wasn't there. pvp. the pvp was just awful imo. and finally the instancing. sure, even my WoW has it, but it so small u don't even think to complain about it. this game has instancing around every corner. really did not like that. all-in-all, AoC is a good mmo, but missing so many great aspects. i'm sure it will cum around, but by that time it'll be too late.

Wasn't there supposed to be a X360 version of AoC? Not that I'm interested, just that I thought I'd heard rumors to that effect.

This is good news. While loads and loads of people have left the game, I hope that we see at least a few trickling back over the next 6 months or so. This is a game with very good intentions, ideas and atmosphere imo. Even if they have made some dreadful mistakes since launch (like implementing only the reward half of the pvp update).

I think I'll definitely be going back to AOC once I get bored of WOTLK (I broke down and got it, urghhh). Game had so much potential and hopefully they are starting to realize it now.
