Fallout 3 Patch 1.0.0.15 Released

The first Fallout 3 patch has been released, updating Bethesda's post-apocalyptic role playing gaming to version 1.0.0.15. The 6.6MB download offers the following bug fixes:

Fixed occasional crashes when exiting the game or using Alt F4 to exit.
Fixed crashes when using Alt-Tab while binks or credits were playing.
The game now restarts properly after title updates finish installing.

Wait...what? The game "crashes" you when you hit ALT+F4? This is the "problem" they chose to fix?
Also, God forbid that the game crashes because people are too bored to watch the credits.

These are the things they chose to fix...

If you're crashing, uninstall ffdshow. If you're experiencing stuttering or mouse lag, install D3DOverrider and turn v-sync on.

If you can't do either of these things, please insert the game disc into your face as hard as possible.

bah, no audio fix for the radio cutting out (no it's not part of the game). A temp fix is to hit esc, wait 5 seconds then go back into the game and it will play normally.

So, um, no fix for everyone who crashes (and there are a lot of us) constantly after leaving the vault? You know, a fix for the people that can't play at all? Christ....like I said before, this is the last Bethesda game I am spending money on...dealt with this shit ever since Daggerfall, no more.

I still have random crash to desktop. never any kind of error, just suddenly blamo. ive not been able to notice that im doing anything specific either, though if anything i think its been jumping a few times. oh well, ill just keep up with my quicksaves as before.

What raises my eyebrow is the fact that a fix apparently made by a guy who ripped the game (and many other games) is being used by both 'legal' and 'illegal' players - with great results!

The Bethesda forums get quite entertaining at times as the mods handle what can only be described as a PR nightmare...
