Shack PSA: AudioSurf $2.49 on Steam This Week

AudioSurf (PC), Dylan Fitterer's music-generated puzzle-inspired racer (or is it racing-inspired puzzler?), is on sale on Valve's digital distribution service Steam for a measly $2.49--a 75% price drop for this week only.

"We've introduced a shopping cart to Steam. To celebrate AudioSurf is now just $2.49, this week only. ADD TO CART!" implores the Steam homepage.

AudioSurf takes users' music in a variety of file formats, including MP3 and audio CD, and creates a racetrack based on the song. Racers then collect blocks in sync with the song's rhythm. At that price, it's well worth trying out.

This is great. I was holding off on installing installing Steam on my new lappy... now I'm going to because I was pretty sure (before) that I wanted this game... now I have a reason to get it.

More like "no reason not to get it", though. Seriously, they're practically giving it away.

I have to say that this game is one of the best values I've seen, even at regular price. I prepurchased it in Feburary when it came out for $8.95 and have logged well over 50 hours with it since then, and I'm still not tired of it. At $2.49 you can't go wrong, so grab it if you don't already have it!
