First Post!
Happy Halloween everyone! I have a Halloween party to go to late tonight, but I actually am not sure about my costume yet. I should probably get on that.
The first thing I did this morning was download the Mirror's Edge demo, as I haven't had an opportunity to play the game before. I managed to leap to my death quite a few times, but damn this game is seriously slick. I was already pretty hyped for the game, but even more so now...can't wait to get better at it.

Fellow Dave, I have the same affliction. It used to be hard for me to play Final Fantasy games because I'd always think if I missed one treasure box in a dungeon I'd not pick up something like the Cock of Amon Ra which does 9999 damage for every hit and when I left I wuold never be able to return to that dungeon or something.

I personally am the same way. But with this game it does not bother me as much because for every mistake I make, it just creates another way for me to replay the game.
For megaton I Fixed the bomb, and judging by all of the quests and things you get out of megaton, I think it was a wise choice. but who knows maybe if I went the other direction it could lead to something better? -
WRT Burke's request, save just before you make the choice to go one way or the other. The rewards end up being "comparable" either way.
My first character I'm playing relatively good (IE: not above breaking and entering, lying, cheating, stealing, etc... but generally a "good" person), so canonically he took the "good" way out of that one. However, I had to see what happened if you went the other way. I wasn't disappointed.
I think when I do my "evil" playthrough, I'll exhaust all the other quests there, and ignore that one until the town's of no further use to me, Murdering everyone there and looting their smoking corpses first, of course ;P ) .
Spoiler: Dealing with Burke, then disarming the bomb gets you good Karma, and a shack in the town. Blowing up the town gives you a *ton* of bad Karma, an *awesome* scene, and a luxury suite in Tenpenny Tower. -
I have the exact same thing, but it doesn´t become serious until I want to play the game again and lose myself in Min/Max madness...
Although I had it to some degree with Oblivion, and Oblivion is terrible for anyone with RAD since of the absolutely horrible leveling system. I stopped playing Oblivion for that exact reason. -
I get that too. Sometimes I quick save and just try something I know I'll undo, but I think the real solution is telling yourself from the beginning that you're going to play through again and do things totally differently. It makes it more easy to just stay in character and stick with decisions.
It also goes to show why so many people actually LIKE playing linear, story-driven RPGs with no real choices.
