Screenshots Show Off New Xbox 360 Dashboard

This looks so impossibly lame, I don't even want to see it again until I have to deal with it personally. That is, unless it has the grace to go away before it finally makes its way onto my xbox.

I know this has likely been answered before, but will this be optional or necessary? I can't get behind the Wii-like avatars.

And yeah, damn, I only have a 20 gig. model. At least it hasn't red-ringed (yet).

Blah Blah, stolen Miis, blah blah looks tacky, totally disagree (pretty sure most folks picking fun aren't xbox owners anyway). As long as it's responsive and allows you to get to the content quickly without to many button presses, I'm sold. Avatars so far have looked a bit cartoony for my taste but I'm sure the more inventive out there will come up with some interesting stuff. And all the behind the scenes stuff is outrageously cool.

Taking an idea from Sony that was born out of necessity due to pitiful BD streaming and using it to truly boost the game experience is just awesome. Doubt I'll get much use out of this on my old 20GB pro, but my main Elite system is going to have all my favs installed (wonder how long each one takes to install?). This all looks like a jazzed up version of the media center interface from Vista which I have grown to like quite a bit.

I'm looking forward to the game installs (makes me wish I had sprung for an elite rather than pro), but I really could take or leave the miivatar crap.
