World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King System Requirements Unveiled
by Blake Ellison, Oct 08, 2008 12:00pm PDTBlizzard has announced the system requirements for Wrath of the Lich King, the coming expansion for its 10-million-plus MMO World of Warcraft.
As computer hardware evolves, so does the game. Windows 2000 has been dropped from the requirements in lieu of Windows Vista, and the processor requirements have been bumped up one generation to a Pentium 4 1.3 GHz at bare minimum. Likewise, video processing requirements are upped one generation to 128MB cards.
Boasting a new continent, a level cap of 80, and the Death Knight Hero class, Wrath of the Lich King goes online on November 13. The full requirements list, borrowed from the Blizzard forums, is reproduced below:

C2Q Q6700, 4GB RAM, 8800Ultra, XP x64 on a 10.000rpm Raptor running at 1600x1200 everything maxed, I really can't reach stable 60 frames nowhere, except if I turn into a corner in an instance.
C2D E4700, 2GB RAM, 7900GTX, XP, 10.000rpm Raptor, running at 1280x1024 most things on low, drawdistance at what could be 80%, the game can't reach 15 stable frames in any major city, and about 20-25FPS in the world, raids are same shit as cities.
I'd say Blizzard makes fun and enjoyable games, but their engines are one of the shittiest on the market for what they put on the screen and what hit in performance they produce.

even with those specs and everything tuned up on max/high settings in game i'm getting mid 20's. that's pretty horrid. i've contacted blizzard and they told me to wait 'til WotLK is officially released for they are still working on the shadows.
