Shack PSA: Pre-Order Demigod, Join Beta Now

Demigod, the upcoming gigantic-hero PC RTS-action-RPG hybrid in development at Gas Powered Games, is now playable in beta form, all for the price of a pre-order.

Pre-ordering the game on the Stardock Impulse digital distribution service grants immediate access to the game inspired by the Warcraft III modification Defense of the Ancients, according to an announcement on VE3D.

"This is a limited time offer," reads the announcement. "Signups for this cycle of the beta test close on Friday, September 19th." People who have played this...

Does the game have any humoristic elements to it? For example, I see those little bull / dog looking peons running around. Seems like there should be some humor to them getting catapulted through the air. Maybe they scream out or squeal or say funny quips?

I guess this ties back to the Warcraft series where each individual unit really had a bit of personality. Even if all the peons shared the same personality I think it would be a fun, welcomed addition.

I'm excited for this game! But, due to me playing WoW again (WOTLK xp) and Left 4 Dead coming out soon I know I'd barely play the beta... So, since the beta is limited, I'll wait til February.

I tried several times ordering the other day both from impulse and stardock but the websites were unresponsive. I also participated in a Stardock survey and they gave me a coupon code which didn't work. Stardock support has been unresponsive.

I'm gunna try again right now.

Maybe the stardock guy shouldn't have been so eager to tell the world that the current beta doesn't feature many of the things that make the game fun....

Mittense, earlier, said this was a true beta - lots of bugs and not all features, and was designed more just to test the engine on a bunch of systems (or this was my interpretation). Is this still the case?

Even at this very early beta stage, Demigod runs very well and is incredibly stable.

I'm anxiously awaiting the full retail release of this title.
