But Sci-fi.. everything is possible. Mass Effect isn't anything like Halo, which itself isn't anything like Metroid, which itself isn't anything like Star Wars, Eve, Doom3, Fallout, Tron.. Sci-fi by very definition will always remain a unexplored territory, something that can (and should) be re-invented everytime.
The same should be true for Fantasy.. yet it seems to die a slow and painfull death. :*(
Thankfully this is less true in books, where fantasy (medieval or else) is a very active and creative genre.
