Need for Speed Undercover Arrives November 18, Stars 'Box Office Sensation' Maggie Q
by Chris Faylor, Aug 15, 2008 7:23am PDTElectronic Arts today revealed Need for Speed Undercover, with PC, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, Nintendo DS and PSP editions of the racer slated to hit North America on November 18 and Europe on November 21.
The latest entry in the Black Box-developed racing series "takes the franchise back to its roots and re-introduces break-neck cop chases, the world's hottest cars and spectacular highway battles," according to EA.
"Big-budget live-action sequences" that feature "box office sensation" and "international movie star" Maggie Q (Mission Impossible III, Live Free or Die Hard) will further the game's plot, with Ms. Q playing the "seductive handler" Federal Agent Chase Linh.
EA CEO John Riccitiello had previously expressed his belief that EA was "torturing a very talented group of people" through 12-month Need for Speed development cycles, with Undercover said to fix that issue.
"I'm confident that Undercover is a much better game than Pro Street, and I expect that from this point forward they will do a lot better," he explained

About freakin' time. Most Wanted is still the best thing EA's done (NFS wise), so it's good to see this.

Brooke Burke was okay. Emanuelle Vaugier was… look, let's just pretend she wasn't there.
Josie Maran was smoking.
Oh, and I guess they could make the game fun or something. But I'm really in it for Josie Maran.

It's kinda funny that they make one kick ass game, then 2 shitty ones, then say oh fuck sales were bad and we are back one kick ass game. The whole need for speed series has been like that. Porsche Unleashed anybody? fucking shitty ass game.

I guess Test Drive Unlimited was the closest thing we've had to that recently. There was a little talk I think a while back about a sequel possibly being in development, anyone heard anything more?
My ideal game would be something like that crossed with the old Test Drive 2: European Challenge pack. Give me autobahns, alpine highways and tunnels, all with traffic (but not too much), cops, and all the usual franchises of cars to drive. Then I'd be a happy man.
