Porn Star Tera Patrick Joins Saints Row 2 Staff

In what is no doubt a blatant grab for publicity, the official Saints Row 2 website today announced that renowned adult film star Tera Patrick will be assisting as a "special producer" on the open-world action game.

The site teased that Patrick will be "bringing her one-of-a-kind touch to the project," but offered no details on her actual involvement. More information is expected to arrive on July 30, with a clock on the site currently counting down to that date.

Patrick's apparent late-term involvement in the project and the hoopla surrounding it suggests that her role is chiefly that of a promotional tool, no doubt providing fuel for politicians as they attempt to drag the industry down and equate games with porn.

The star marks the latest pseudo-celebrity to join the title's promotional campaign, which has featured the beloved Gary Busey in a number of trailers.

Developed by Volition, Saints Row 2 is slated to hit PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on October 14, with a PC version due out at an unspecified future date.
