Nintendo Announces Wii Voice Chat Solution
by Aaron Linde, Jul 15, 2008 9:28am PDTNintendo today announced Wii Speak, a set-top microphone compatible with the Wii console, at their E3 2008 press conference today.
As briefly shown at the conference, the Wii Speak microphone sits atop a television, allowing for multiple users to use the device simultaneously.
The peripheral will make its debut alongside Animal Crossing City Folk, which will allow players to communicate with players while exploring a friend's town in the game. Nintendo also promises standard voice chat with friends via the Wii's Wi-Fi connection.
Wii Speak will debut alongside Animal Crossing City Folk near the end of 2008, sold separately at a $29.99 price point.
