You're In The Movies Announced, Uses Camera to Bring Players into Game
by Nick Breckon, Jul 14, 2008 11:35am PDTMicrosoft today announced You're In The Movies, a game that uses the Xbox Live camera to put players "in the movies."
You're In The Movies projects your image into the game like the Nickelodeon television show Nick Arcade. Microsoft representatives were shown running in clown pants and swatting at flies on screen in short minigames.
The console will then compile these gameplay clips into movies, with the actions that were coerced by the minigames forming a cinematic short when the footage is placed into "irreverent" templates.
Players will be able to share their editable movies over Xbox Live. The game will include an Xbox Live camera when it ships this holiday season.
