Netflix Streaming Service Announced for Xbox 360

Microsoft today announced that Netflix will exclusively come to the Xbox 360 this fall.

Those who are both Xbox Live Gold and Netflix subscribers will be able to stream over 10,000 movies and television shows at no additional cost. Gamers will be able to watch TV and movies with their Live party.

"From the Netflix Web site, members simply add movies and TV episodes to their individual instant Queues. Those choices will be automatically displayed on the TV screen via Xbox 360 and available to watch instantly," Microsoft explained.

"Once selected, movies will begin playing in as little as 30 seconds. In addition to instantly streaming movies to the TV, Xbox LIVE Gold members can fast-forward, pause and rewind, all using either their Xbox 360 Controller or Media Remote. In all, the user interface creates a highly personalized experience that puts viewers in control."

Any news about HD content? I don't mean to look a gift horse in the mouth or anything, because just having the streaming available at all is pretty awesome, but I'd fill the cup if they started streaming HD stuff.

Glad to see more value for my money (live gold + netflix account), but I doubt I'll ever use it other than a few minutes of messing around. After using Netflix for Blu-ray movies I just cant go back to DVD or psuedo-HD like Apple/xbox.

So that survey Sony/Netflix did asking PS3 owners if they would like a Netflix streaming service is longer huh? :( Microsoft bought the exclusive to that too. This is as big a news as FF13 IMHO. So wtf is Sony gonna do now? I'm pretty sure they can't do there own subscription streaming service for $9.99 a month. And even if they could I doubt it would have as big a selection as Netflix. God fuck Microsoft, I wanted netflix on the ps3 more than 360 :(

This is awesome.

This does only pertain to what you would be able to stream from Netflix Site, this is NOT major releases.
It's like having a Netflix Box, in your 360, it's totally awesome. But I hope people don't think they're going to be watching this years titles.
