This game was originally going to be fallout meets morrowind. A nonlinear first person rpg with vehicles and a skills system. The way they gated into canyons for the loading screens between zones was really annoying. Side quests generated MMO style, Trade wasn't useful. Didn't witness the living world, myself. Stealth system broken in places.
On the flip side, the set pieces were absolutely fantastic, the shooting model my favorite of any game thus far, and the pacing a nice change.
How high do we set our expectations?

BUT, Clear Sky has ambient occlusion - which is an excellent and easy per pixel shading technique that would be PERFECT for this sort of thing. What AO does is basically fill all the little closed in areas with shadows, which is incidentally exactly how shadows look under diffuse light and overcast outdoor sunlight conditions such as those in the original stalker - that's why I'm looking forward to seeing this in action, and that's why I want this feature in the original stalker as well, because in terms of how the game looks it would make a massive difference.

These trailers are like a woman's personal ad that consists of shots and feature lists of her uterus and ovaries. Yeah, cool, I'm glad that stuff is there and that it all works, but it sort of ignores the big picture.
In closing, I hope I've won the Analogy of the Day contest.

Also, are any of these graphical changes going to make it into the original game via patching?
