Guitar Hero DS Sets New Sales Records
by Chris Faylor, Jul 03, 2008 8:38am PDTStrong sales of Vicarious Vision's DS Guitar Hero entry, a game the studio freely admits was never planned or requested, have set new sales records for publisher Activision.
In the week following its June 22 release, Guitar Hero: On Tour sold over 300,000 units in North America. That feat, Activision claims, makes it the company's largest Nintendo DS software launch in North America "by more than a factor of eight."
The company further boasted that the strong debut ranks among its "top 5 best-selling launches of any title on any platform," though exact details were not provided.
