Pretty Halo Wars Screenshots Arrive

Age of Empires creator Ensemble Studios has released several new screenshots from Halo Wars, its Xbox 360-only stab at a Halo-themed real-time strategy effort.

Expected to arrive later this year, Halo Wars will be on display at this year's E3 Media & Business Summit, which runs from July 14-17. Check back then to see how the title has fared since last year's optimistic showing.

Why bother buying it on the 360 give them 2-4 months and they will just port it to the PC like mass effect and halo any way.

The pictures look pretty, but the gameplay video on their site doesn't feel like halo. The units march out and stand still while shooting at each other. The AI in fps halo didn't feel that static. Give a marine a warthog and he should be tearing it up and making lots of poor driving decisions, not parking it on the battlefield so his gunner can get a steady shot.

One nice thing I liked from the demonstration was the paintbrush unit selection. That seemed like it could be applied well to PC RTS's as well.

It's like adding "Shift+Click" selection to consoles.

This looks much better. I may actualy get interested in this, although with RA3 coming this fall, if they come out at the same time, HAlo Wars is going to have to be real good to get playtime.
