Ticket to Ride, Happy Tree Friends Arrive on XBLA This Wednesday

This week's roundup of titles on the Xbox 360's Xbox Live Arcade downloadable gaming platform includes Next Level Games' Ticket to Ride and Stainless Games' Happy Tree Friends: False Alarm, Microsoft announced today.

A digital version of the award-winning tabletop board game, Ticket to Ride tasks players with building a railroad network across the countryside. The game supports multiplayer for up to four users on a single console, and up to five players via Xbox Live.

Based on Mondo Media's cute yet disturbingly violent animated Flash series Happy Tree Friends, False Alarm pits cuddly creatures against brutally dangerous environments that must be successfully navigated to avoid an untimely—and possibly adorable—demise.

Both games are priced at 800 Microsoft Points ($10) per download, and will be available on the Xbox Live Marketplace this Wednesday, June 25.

I played "Ticket to Ride" at A-Kon and found it to be a rather deep strategy game. I'm wondering if they'll have the expansions available as DLC.

Or even the original map ;) Always was curious about that game, maybe the XBLA demo will make me buy the actual board game...

        Buy the board game!

I've played the XBLA one, and it's okay, but the original game is *awesome*.

Board games are awesome...when you have people around you can play them with.

No local board game community means XBLA wins.

I think I have it on my amazon wishlist... I'll definitely check out the arcade game, carcassone is one of the few video games I can play with my better half. (Although we have the actual board of that...)
