Conduit Screens Show Off Fancy Wii FPS
by Aaron Linde, Jun 12, 2008 6:15pm PDTIndependent developer High Voltage Software has released a batch of screenshots from The Conduit, a Wii-exclusive shooter which the developer says will "provide some of the best visuals seen to date on Nintendo's Wii gaming console."
Scheduled for an early 2009 release, The Conduit makes use of High Voltage's proprietary Quantum 3 engine, developed from the ground up for the Wii. The game will include online multiplayer and a single-player campaign, and employs a control scheme specially designed for the Wii Remote.
"Too many Wii owners have been told that the Wii is a casual platform with no room for serious games or top-tier graphics," said High Voltage CCO Eric Nofsinger. "We intend to prove that theory wrong by providing gamers with the kind of title they imagined back when the platform was first announced."
Based in Illinois, High Voltage Software previously developed Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law, Family Guy Video Game, Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude and White Men Can't Jump, among numerous others.
While the company's body of work is mostly composed of licensed properties, the studio is moving more towards original development.
