New Characters Star in Street Fighter 4 Screens

Following word of new Street Fighter IV characters, Capcom has released screens of fresh fighters Rufus and El Fuerte.

Rival of Ken, the enormous Rufus is seen taking on the yellow-haired Street Fighter standard in these shots, with the previously announced El Fuerte going up against Ryu.

Street Fighter IV hits PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 this winter.

I think this is excellent. We need variety, and this char actually has a lot of quick/fun attacks mixed in with goofy animation. Look at Hugo from SF3, Birdie from Alpha, or even 'gief and you'll realize that this has always been part of SF.

I know i know, you think you understand the SF universe because you played SF2 back in the 90s...and you want every character to be Ryu, Ken or Akuma.

Diversity is king. I'm glad to see some fun risks taken. That's what made SF3 such a masterpiece.

I will say that I'm very happy to see that the end boss "Seth" looks related to Urien from sf3. Take a look:

People said SF3 characters were bland and shallow... I don't think I'll ever get into these new SF4 characters. Ya ya, I haven't played it... but I just can't relate to a farting glowing yellow dude.
