Rock Revolution Drum Kit Pictured, Amazes
by Chris Faylor, May 15, 2008 1:35pm PDTFollowing Konami's announcement of Rock Revolution (PS3, X360, Wii, DS), MTV Multiplayer has posted the first picture of the six-pad drum kit used in the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions.
Konami says the instrument is "the most realistic drum peripheral on the market."
"Triangles make it more edgy," commented Shacknews founder Steve Gibson.
The third toy plastic drum set for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 is slated to arrive alongside Rock Revolution this October. It is not yet known if the set will be cross-compatible with Rock Band or Guitar Hero IV.

I thought at first it was because - well let's face it, rock band has more instruments and more varied tracks. However now another game comes along with more instruments, as well as the news of GHIV. People are shitting on both. And yet if Rockband 2 were mentioned you'd all be going apeshit over it.
Wow....whats the difference? Harmonix name not on it? This isn't like some RPG or FPS that is watered down or loses it's focus - it's a RHYTHM game. They use the exact same gameplay, just different songs. Get over yourselves.

Really though, as long as they keep up the DLC for rock band I don't see any reason to buy another game in the genre.
That said, that drum kit doesn't look all that bad...but not all that great, either.
The pictures make the scale and placement a little unclear, and until I had the opportunity to test it out, I wouldn't be able to say.
GHIV's upcoming rock set looks the best, though.

However, I would say at a glance that this is so far the most accurate video game representation of a real drum set. Of the two.
