New Wii Channel Arrives with DS Demo Downloads

Nintendo of America has released a new Channel for the Wii, enabling owners to download DS game demos and transmit them to the portable system.

Dubbed the Nintendo Channel, the free download also provides more detailed information on certain games and enables users to buy titles from select online retailers via the console's Internet Channel.

The Nintendo Channel is currently available for download from the online Wii Shop Channel.

I think (hope) this will help out the Wii's attach rate. Nintendo has managed to turn lots of people into Wii Sports players, now they just need to turn those same people into gamers.

This works really well. There are a ton of videos; trailers and interviews and such, which are nice I guess (but I can find those on any web site) but the DS download thing is really neat. I grabbed the Ninja Gaiden demo and it was super easy and the game is pretty fun to boot!

This is an awesome way to make people aware of otherwise poor selling titles. I really hope we see demos to Ace Attorney and Proffessor Layton, these games really need as many fans as they can get :D
