'Splain your Shackname!
"Kallanta": I'm a Tolkien nut, and anyone who knows Tolkien well knows that he crafted two Elvish dialects (it's even said he created Middle-Earth as a way to get his langauges out there). "Kal" is a prefix meaning falling, fallen, fell, and variations on that. "Lanta" means light, fire, lamp, torch, etc. So Kallanta means falling light, or fallen light, or raining fire, or any other variation you care to come up with.
Your turn.

There was a thread a little while ago about someone loving rock band drums so much he went and got a drumkit etc... I'm actually wanting to learn to play drums as well now, which would mean getting some proper lessons and things. There's no way I have room for a full drumkit though so would have to get some kind of electronic thing - are there any reasons why learning to play drums on an electronic set is a really bad thing? Can you move from one to the other without any problems?

Here's my dream special day patch:
For one day Blizzard turns all servers into PvP and then shuts down graveyards. The only way to come back from being dead would be to rez. What would happen? Massive world PvP where one side would actually kill off the other side. Shamans would stealth pop and try to rez their team members to launch a counterstrike, fun times would be had for almost all. People just wanting to level up may hate it, but that's fine cause it's just one day long.
It'd be really great if Blizzard could track each server and say which side was victorious at the end of the day.

The equivalence to this is if Half-Life 1 and 2 (or any other action game on the PC) popped up a button with an E on it to open doors, talk to people, and activate health and suit armor kiosks. Through the entire game.
I can understand it being used for certain unique actions, like if you're grappling with an enemy and want to wrestle his weapon away from him, or to dodge an insanely large monster. An example of this is how Tomb Raider: Anniversary did it on the PC during those special movie sequences (although Fahrenheit 9/11 started it, I think.) I can understand it also being used for kids/adults starting out on gaming, but I still don't see why it can't be an option you can toggle on/off.

At the end Luke fights Vader and the whole revelation takes place yadda yadda, same old story.
But when Luke was clutching the pillar with his one good arm, crying wildly, I could not help but picturing him screaming "LEAVE BRITNEY ALONE!". Damn, I'll never be able to watch that movie again. =(

What other sweet stuff do you guys do with your media centers besides stream music and video, surf the net, play video games?
I already have a slingbox and DVR ... I guess I could have more recording space, but I don't really need it.
