S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky Arrives August 29

GSC Game World's upcoming survival FPS S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky (PC) will arrive worldwide on August 29, the company announced today.

Set before the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R., the prequel provides insight into the events that led to the atmospheric first-person shooter. The title will be available through both traditional retail channels and as a Steam-exclusive digital download.

"Our intention to deliver the game simultaneously worldwide is both a challenge and big responsibility to the many fans of the game around the globe," said GSC World Publishing CEO Sergiy Grygorovych. "We are looking forward to achieve this ambitious goal in August."

When I played STALKER all the boars and bloodsuckers had pure white eyes. (not pupil-less, just full on #FFFFFF white). I didn't mind, it made it a little easier to see the dang 'suckers. I thought it was a bug, but seeing these screenshots maybe not? Or maybe they just gave up trying to fix it?

I don't know if anyone else noticed this but once you get to the bar area you can get a mission to find a guy's family rifle, well enroute to find this rifle there is a dead body you can search that is next to a fire in this underpass. This body has a PDA on it and in bad european humor it references Mesa and it talks about crowbars. I thought this was a nice touch that acknowledges Half-Life.

I finally played STALKER in January, after a couple patches fixed it up a bit. It was one of the best games I have played in a long time. The environments were absolutely amazing. I'm really looking forward to Clear Sky, which should be even better and closer to the original vision of the team.

I'm hoping this game is more stable than the last one. I tried replaying it, but it would crash to the desktop if I farted too loud, but I place that blame squarely on Vista's shoulders.

So I guess I should say, I hope this one is more Vista friendly
