PS3 Firmware 2.20 Adds BD-Live Support, DivX Subtitles, More
The update, which brings PS3 firmware to version 2.20, adds support for Blu-ray Disc Profile 2.0, also known as BD-Live. Blu-ray discs which support the feature allow users to connect to the internet while playing the discs and obtain additional content and special features.
The first Blu-ray movies to take advantage of BD-Live are The 6th Day and Walk Hard, slated for release on April 8.
The update adds subtitle support for DivX files, as well as the ability to play DivX and WMV format files that are over two gigabytes in size. The new firmware also features a resume play to DVD or Blu-ray playback, allowing users to resume play of a disc from the point it was stopped, even if the disc was ejected.
Finally, v2.20 will allow users to copy PS3 music and photo playlists to a PSP, and adds a "Save Target" option to the PS3 internet browser which enables users to save files from web pages.

Resume playback is a looooooong overdue feature, and I don't know why Microsoft doesn't support this on 360 (they do, but only if the disc stays in the drive).
I have a 60 gig HDD on my PS3. Why can't it spend 1 meg and remember where I was on every disc I've ever played?
Hopefully this is the kind of support they've implemented. You can do that in OS X with the DVD player, and I've never understood why more people don't do it, especially if you have a huge hard drive already there.-

I absolutely cannot believe that this was not a feature from the beginning. How long have plain old regular DVD players been able to do this? The first time I stopped watching a BluRay movie and then went back to it later I thought for sure my PS3 was busted because it wasn't resuming.
Now if only my PS3 would actually download the damn updates. Every time I've tried lately it just sits there at 0% and eventually times out with "Cannot connect to server."
