The more I think about it, the more I start to realize I may have a problem.

I've ask myself the above question nearly every time I've bought a PlayStation title for the past five years. It's a question I honestly thought I was done asking myself a long time ago. Even if a game hasn't been produced on the system since I entered high school, I still find myself digging through bargain bins at any opportunity, coming away with a title or two that I never got a chance to play, or a couple discs of something that I'd like to revisit.

I really did believe that, when I picked up a surprisingly pristine copy of Ridge Racer Type 4 last spring, it was the last PlayStation game I'd ever buy. But here I am, less than a year later, with four new-slash-old additions to my bloated game library. Welcome to the fold Rogue Trip, Fade to Black, Rage Racer, and Blasto. I'm pretty familiar with most of you, and with the exception of Blasto, your predecessors.

I always loved Flashback. How did I never get around to you, Fade to Black?

Rogue Trip, how I adore your unique take on photo-happy tourists within the trappings of post-apocalyptic vehicular combat. Rage Racer, you'll find yourself sitting next to the first two Ridge Racer games. As for Blasto, all I have to say is: Phil Hartman. You'd think that after more than a decade of this, I'd be satisfied with the hundreds of games already in my collection, many of which have never been played for more than an hour. But each time I've bought a PlayStation game in the past three or four years, I've been naive enough to believe it's my last one.

This sickness extends to nearly every other platform in my possession. I was pretty sure my 2004 purchase of DuckTales was my last NES prize, but the Wii's Virtual Console turns such a declaration into a semantic debate. Does it really count that I re-bought Bubble Bobble? I'm not sure. Before today, the last Dreamcast game I'd netted was my long-desired import copy of Samba de Amigo Ver. 2000 in mid-2007. As of a few hours ago, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 claims that title. I loved the game to pieces back in the day, so how did I ever manage to trade it in? It's only $1. How can you go wrong? And Game Boy Advance, well, I found Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones in a clearance sale a few months back. Only $8! Of course I bought it. And, like far too many of the games in my closet, it's still in the shrink wrap. In closing, I need help.

I feel your pain, I do exactly the same thing...

I do it with N64 games, then play them for 5 minutes and thats it.

At least there is a stockpile of old games there, waiting to be played if I feel reminiscent.
