Sony Releases Wipeout HD Trailer

Boasting online multiplayer for up to eight players and a shiny 1080p presentation, Sony Liverpool's Wipeout HD is looking like a nice treat for PS3-owning fans of the long-running racing series.

Sony today released a new trailer for the game, which you can enjoy below in streaming format. No release date has been announced yet for the project, but it is still expected to hit the PlayStation Store sometime later this year.

I love Wipeout, this looks cool. It doesn't look as stylish as the first one. It looks a little dated.

The colors are desaturated and the environments and effects lack punch. The buildings just in the still look like some random shit from someone's demo reel.

The coolest thing to me is sixaxis support. Especially after seeing how good Excitetruck is on Wii.. it's easy to imagine Wipeout totally feeling perfect for these controls.

Am I using a bad codec or something? Whenever i try to maximize these HD Streams they're really, really choppy. It seems like they drop to 5 frames per second. I use an 8800 GT so I don't see how it could be my hardware.

I'm totally hot for this.

Only 8 tracks sucks, but still...it's Wipeout! In HD!

It better support custom soundtracks though. My combo Wipeout XL/3 playlist is still my all-time favorite racing game music.
