  • Wow I am pretty impressed after playing this (for a few hours hehe). It has a lot of the things I found lacking from Rome: Total War--mainly a lot more Age of Empires type city management and even individual citizens of your towns/cities. The battle I played in the demo was small, just 2 units on my side: archers & infantry vs. small barbarian camps. Combat seemed fairly similar in looks to RTW, gameplay-wise (at least in the scenario I played) you click a button "Attack nearest enemy" instead of actually clicking on the enemy unit you want to attack.

I really spent a LOT more time doing the city management...it is fairly tough at times and for me had a higher learning cure: there was a lot of things I had to find out there hard way, like what kind of buildings you need to survive in the early game, and citizens will riot if they don't have something they want. The cool thing was you can click each citizen if you want and find out what the problem is. The available land for them is really huge it seems....Graphics were great, and I had them on med/low....definite buy for me. I can play this type of game for hours on end I have played the demo for probably 4 hours now...definitely worth a try at least if you enjoy games like Age of Empires or RTW.
