X3: Terran Conflict Announced

Developer Egosoft has announced X3: Terran Conflict, a stand-alone sequel to the X3 space simulation series, on its official forums.

X3: Terran Conflict will be a "culmination of the X trilogy," with the final chapter centering around Earth and its relationship to the rest of the universe. The PC game will also feature more missions than any previous title in the series, and allow players to take on the roles of various characters, such as a military pilot.

Look for X3: Terran Conflict in the third quarter of 2008.

Dammit when I first saw this in my RSS Feed I swear it said "Terrain Conflict".

Seriously...is planetary interaction still only available in ONE space simulation that was made decades ago? Come on guys...seriously.

At least the EVE Guys are working on it.

Hopefully they begin to work on a user friendly interface! ...and lower the learning curve, that game made me feel dumb.

If they can make this upcoming game more accessible to the normal gamer, less buggy, and on DVD (for pete's sake - the last one came on 6 freakin' CDs), they might have a chance. Oh, and while they're at it, make sure they include a decent manual this time. Too many companies are doing that crap these days (Savage 2, I'm looking squarely in your direction).
