EA, Fight Night Vets Announce FaceBreaker
by Maarten Goldstein, Jan 31, 2008 7:01am PSTElectronic Arts today announced that the team behind Fight Night Round 3, now at EA Canada, is working on a new boxing game for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii titled FaceBreaker.
Unlike the realistic Fight Night series, FaceBreaker will be a cartoony arcade boxing experience featuring "irreverent fun, immersive gameplay and eye-popping stylized graphics," according to today's announcement.
"Arcade boxing takes me back to my roots in this industry, and this game signals our shift to adding more approachable fun to our product lineup," said EA Sports president Peter Moore. "In no time at all, you'll be picking up the controllers and knocking your opponent around the ring, smashing faces, and having a riot."
The game is said to feature a host of unique characters featuring their own fighting style and taunts. You will also be able to customize your character by uploading a photo of your own face. The breaking of faces will come courtesy of the game's real-time facial deformation.
No release date was announced for FaceBreaker.
