First, a little about myself. I fix home computers. A sort of side business you might say; one I like quite a lot. I generally arrive to the relieved smiles of my clients, who patiently sit as I impart upon them my expert labour and sage advice. In return, they impart upon me a goodly sum of cash. Hands are grasped, gratitude expressed and I'm on my way.
Sometimes, however, things go awry. Horribly, horribly awry. One of my semi-regular clients is an older woman with two children who, despite having bothing graduated high school, live at home. A goth daughter who likes to put nude photos of herself in her "my pictures" folder, and a son (more on him later). So, her internet isn't working. It worked fine up until 3 weeks ago when it mysteriously stopped. Pretty common problem, so I go on over and take a look at her machine. Finding no issues, I call the service provider, secure her password and ask her to show me to the router, that i may inspect it and reset it if necessary.
This is the part where things go bad. I followed her as we descend far down into the basement level of her home. Some basements are spacious and well appointed. Not this one. It was a cramped, dark, cluttered dungeon, alive with mysterious smells and musky odours. After carefully navigating my head through the concussion-zone, we turn the corner and come upon THE ROOM.
THE ROOM is where her son lives. It was also the source of the mysterious scent in the air. The three main components to the room are a huge television, small bed and a table with many small burned things and other unidentifiable objects. The floor is cement and the walls are unfinished, yet wallpapered with playboy pinups. His mother is standing in her son's room, surrounded by other women's luscious breasts. Of course, she doesn't blink and eye, but I found it odd. Cables are running everywhere, so I follow them around, trying to track down the router. I follow the blue cable until.... I find it.
There it is. The SMC Wireless Router. Hidden on the floor at the head of the bed, it is nestled cozily in a tangle of cables... right beside a half finished, OPEN bottle of KY Jelly. On the other side of the router is a small waste basket, OVERFLOWING with little white used tissues, all oddly crumpled in the same manner. All of this wouldn't be TOO horrible, if it weren't for the fact that Son #1 has poor aim and not only is the wastebasket full of these suspicious tissues, but they are also scattered all around the whole area, including several juicy specimens on top of the router itself and tangled in the cables!!!!
Now, any self-respecting technician would, at this point, refuse to go further. I am a trooper however, so I gingerly picked up an attached cable, meaning to shack off the tissues and inspect the router. This plan failed miserably however, when I discovered to my horror that the tissues on top were actually STUCK TO THE ROUTER. YES. THIS MASS MURDERER HAD GLUED HIS JIZZ-TISSUES TO THE ROUTER WITH THE CORPSE-JUICE EVIDENCE OF HIS NIGHTLY GENOCIDAL ACTIVITIES.
I dropped it in disgust and stepped back... His mother sighed and waded in, cleaning up his issue-tissues and wiping down the router with disinfectant and such for me. Such love, a mother has for her wayward son. Turned out that the reason the internet wasn't working was because the son had changed the password to the internet account and then disconnected the router which shared the internet with his parents/sister's computer upstairs, connecting his laptop in directly. Of course, did he tell them that when they mentioned their internet wasn't working? Nope. They had to pay me $50 to tell them that. Whoops.

I just received my Hanns*G HW191A monitor, and all it came with was Vista drivers. What the hell.
Are there any drivers for it for XP? Or am i just SOL, cause the colors are in desperate need of calibration.

So my buddy and I were debating the necessity/usefulness of the word "indescribable". The definition is "that which cannot be described" . One of his arguments against the usefulness of the word is that saying something is indescribable is essentially a description, since it's an adjective. I found that the word, in and of itself, is useless unless it is used in context.
I believe the word is really perspective based, and if someone can't describe something, it's indescribable to them - not an absolute declaration that something cannot be described at all. He agreed with that. And we both agreed that it someone uses it as an absolute, it's kind of absurd. What do you guys think?

I honestly have not played a single player since I played Half-Life(1) last year (HI! PAPABOO). You can seacrch p4ck3tloss comments for that. I have not used my 360 for anything but a DVD player actually since my friend gifted it to me. Yes, I know, something is definitely wrong with me.
Now that I don't get to tackle her, will I enjoy tackling this game?

I don't think I can play much TF2 anymore with what seems to be the majority of the game gravitating to ubered demomen vs ubered demomen. lethal blind fire spam, lethal stickies, it's just too much.
even on maps where engineers would be super awesome, everyone knows it's fucking pointless to build anything, anywhere. there aren't even any soldiers anymore. or heavies. just demomen.

It's going to be half a season, but oh well, I'm still crazy excited. I've been rewatching the series from the beginning to brush up on all the long past stuff.

I am looking to get a new LCD monitor, but I don't want to break the bank. I'm looking for a non-widescreen monitor around $200. I could go as high as $300 if there is nothing decent for $200.
What brands and/or models would you recommend at that price point? Last time I bought one I just picked the best looking one in the store at the price I wanted and it ended up being pretty crappy - the colors and brightness get all distorted if you don't view it from the right angle.

Note that you can turn your buildings before creation with a simple right click. This will rotate the blueprint on the ground by 90º. This is exceptionally useful for strategic placement on ledges and the like.
It's a good idea to turn your buildings so that they are most effective. Rotate your teleporter exits to face the open, so that your teammates won't have to turn around in confusion. Rotate your sentries so that they don't waste time turning around to fire, giving your enemies less time to react.

Okey seriously you guys, you need to play this god damn game. Don't look at the screenshots, they won't blow you away, don't bother with the videos they don't illustrate the coolness of the concept, just get the demo (it's a paltry 100 megs) and experience the style. It's not even a first person shooter, more like taking the environment interaction from games like Deus Ex and Vampire Bloodlines and focusing on that to create an adventure game with rare, intense combat elements.
Also, this game will blow you.
