Left 4 Dead Rising in Late Summer

Previously scheduled to arrive during Q1 2008, the forthcoming co-op zombie shooter Left 4 Dead (PC, X360) will now hit in the late summer, Valve has revealed to Shacknews.

Developed in conjunction by Valve and newly-acquired subsidiary Turtle Rock Studios, the studios expect the game to arrive in August or September.

I give up. Every single game is getting delayed. This game, Battlefield Bad Company, Mercenaries 2, etc... it seems like the games that are due out in early 2008 are now releasing early 2009. A video game's release date should be more like a movie's release date. I'm sure just as much work goes into a movie as a video game. How is it that they never delay their release dates? Stop with the lies and just let everyone know when the game is really going to come out!

Nowadays, I've given up on release dates. I try not to get excited about a game's release until it goes gold. Try not to be surprised when this game gets delayed until Q4 of this year...

The concept sounded interesting but the videos always looked boring to me, and the idea sounds like it would make for some really repetitive play. I do hope I'm wrong though.

It feels like I've been waiting forever for this game.

Zombies + Survival = awesome. I'm glad Valve acquired the company. That typically means great support, more maps to come in the future, and based on the Source engine situation, a re-code in the newest engines touted by the company.
