Monthly NPD Console Sales Data Graphed

Yesterday we covered the November NPD United States console hardware and video game software sales data on the main site; as of today we're going to start informally hosting graphed representations of the hardware data, courtesy of Shacker Stephen "chazums" Pendergrass Charman.

Charman~~der I choose you~~ compiles month-by-month sales of all hardware, lifetime to date sales of the three main home consoles stratified by month, and year to date sales of the three main home consoles stratified by month.

Interesting data. If you compare these charts to the game sales report posted yesterday (http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/50384) one can only imagine that the PS3 is going to have a heck of a time getting and holding onto exclusives.

It would take some serious wallet padding to convince someone to develop a PS3 exclusive when they know they can sell 3x as many titles if they develop for both the 360 and the PS3.
