Microsoft Announces Downloadable Xbox Titles, Celebrates Xbox Live Anniversary with Free Game
by Nick Breckon, Nov 13, 2007 10:11am PSTMicrosoft has today announced that a new Xbox Live downloading service, dubbed "Xbox Originals," will be available starting with the December 4th fall update to Xbox 360 consoles. Halo, Psychonauts, Crimson Skies and Fable have been officially confirmed to hit the service, though it is unclear which games will launch with the update. Reports indicate that Indigo Prophecy (known in Europe as Fahrenheit), Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex, and Burnout 3 will also be available in the future. Each title will carry a price of 1200 Microsoft Points ($15). Also announced were a few bonuses for Xbox Live subscribers in celebration of the service's fifth anniversary. The Xbox Live Arcade title Carcassonne will be available for free over a period of 48 hours to all members, beginning November 15. Additionally, those who have been subscribed since 2002 will receive 500 free Microsoft Points.

The worst part is Sony can't compete now that they've ripped PS2 backwards compatibility from the PS3.

Got a feeling that they don't care, the service is just going to be there for those who want to use it. Just another way to sell Halo, ultimately?

This is what I've been waiting for. Console digital download. We're only a baby step away from downloading new 360 games straight off of marketplace.
YES!! One small step for man, one giant leap for the Xbox 360!

Gonna download Halo, Fable, Burnout and Crimson Skies. If nothing else then to support it so they'll put up more games.
