A new fish-themed PSP puzzle title from French developer Eko Software will arrive in stores in early 2008, Atari announced today. Downstream Panic! charges players with the eco-friendly responsibility of saving sea animals that have been hurled into the Earth's atmosphere.

"Fans of fast-paced puzzle games will fall in love with this new twist on the fish-out-of-water idea," said Atari producer Donny Clay. Players will engage in "tactical puzzle-action" by making use of fish-saving tools to guide their finned friends back to saltwater safety.

The title boasts more than 80 levels, 10 hours of gameplay, three game modes, and the promise of downloadable content. Though most of Eko's titles aren't published in the U.S., its most recent offering to come stateside was this year's PC and PlayStation 2 budget heist sim Th3 Plan.
