A character that doesn't talk. I really really don't get that. It screws up the experience for me. I think a) if you're going to put your character into a big story where there is a lot of supposed conversing with other characters, create conversation options to respond or b) just make them say SOMETHING or imply that your character is a mute. Or c) make a doom(not doom 3) like game where their are no other conversing characters and you're all alone.
A good example for me, is Half-Life, which I still love. But every time someone says something to me, it feels dumb that nothing is said back... Am I alone on this?
Imagine in the future (possibly) some game creator creates a tech where you can speak into a mic to respond, and get a somewhat natural response form the npc (with limitations of course). But in the meantime, GIVE MY GUY A VOICE.
