Guitar Hero DS Won't Use Stylus
by Carlos Bergfeld, Sep 10, 2007 12:18pm PDTVicarious Visions design manager Adrian Earle told GamesAreFun the upcoming portable version of Guitar Hero won't "use the stylus as a primary input." Though fairly ambiguously worded, Earle seems to imply the touch screen won't be used to strum notes, as is done in Ubisoft's Jam Sessions. Saying the title won't use the stylus as a primary input could also mean the title will use a stylus replacement, like a guitar pick, though this would be a fairly lame enhancement--especially since Earle claims gamers will "absolutely love" what he refers to as a new peripheral. As far as visuals go, Earle revealed Guitar Hero DS will have the same 3D look as its console counterparts. Rumors of the DS version of Guitar Hero were confirmed in August, and a peripheral of some sort was implied at that point. When contacted for further details, a RedOctane rep told Shacknews, "At this time we have no comment on this matter."
