I think what they wish to achieve here is an association between the fun/pleasurable feelings you get from playing (or replaying) the game and, in this case, McDonald's. Similar to advertisers that use people partying/playing/having fun to sell things like beer or cigarettes, even when nobody in the commercials are drinking or smoking (Here in Canadia I believe its actually illegal to show people drinking beer in adverts).
The desired result here being, the next time you see a McDonald's you have a positive feeling and in turn have a desire to eat at McDonald's.
As far as in game advertisements go, this seems like a pretty effective system. I mean, the games are free, and the advertisements themselves don't seem too intrusive. What advertisers need to realize is that if they make people loathe their advertisements they probably hurt the product more than they help.
As for me, the ads during loading put me off downloading any of these. Unless the ads are silent. Could anyone who's tried one of these tell me what the loading screen ads are like? Are they pictures? video? sound?
I wouldn't mind trying farcry since I only played the demo (and didn't impress me enough to buy it, the AI was messed, though i dunno if that has changed).

I tried a few things, and was about to uninstall, when I got a hunch and disabled my 2nd monitor.
It started working. Bleh.

How does it work without the Wiimote? Is it fun or does it take all the bad things of a minigame-fest and remove the novelty of motion-sensitive controls?
I have still barely played the Wii version. Had no interest in it single player. Busted it out when a bunch of friends came round to try it out with them, but as far as we could tell you had to unlock everything to be able to play it which sucks donkey cock in a party environment. What the fuck is that about?? Or did we miss the "have fun and do what you want" menu item?

- I this a web-browser like deal? As in, are those ads in the game coming from the files installed or being pulled off of the web?
- Are the ads always going to be the same? (related to the above question I suppose)
- Is that all? Like, is it just ads in the game or is there some sort of special software doing this for them (like what was rumored to be in BF2142)
If it's really just some free games for the price of watching some ads, then that's pretty awesome.
