Source Engine Powered Zeno Clash Announced

11
Chile based ACE Team has licensed Valve's Source Engine technology and intends to use it for the fantasy action game Zeno Clash, the company announced today.

Said to feature brutal melee combat, Zeno Clash has you on the run from your own family following exile from your clan. The resulting journey will have you visiting exotic locales, where various "battle scenarios" will be played out.

"Working with Source gives us the features, tools, and flexibility we need in an engine to bring to life a game world beyond anything seen before," said Andres Bordeu, game designer with ACE Team. "Source is an incredibly flexible engine that lets us create environments with rich visuals, expansive and highly-detailed believable characters that interact with players in intelligent-and challenging-ways."

We have four screenshots from the game, which will be released for PC some time during 2008.

TF 2, HL2:Episode 2 and Portal don't look anywhere near this bad.

The style, colors, execution and art direction are horrendous. I'm sorry, I know there are people slaving away trying to make this thing cool.

In their interview they mention "believable characters" - believable if you're high maybe.
