ABC's Lost Finds PC, PS3 and X360 in Q1 2008

The game inspired by ABC and J.J. Abram's ever-mysterious Lost will crash land on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in the first quarter of 2008, publisher Ubisoft announced this morning. A trailer of the game will debut at today's San Diego Comic-Con panel on Lost season 4, which begins at 5 PM PDT.

Developed by Ubisoft Montreal, the Lost game puts players in the role of a survivor of Oceanic flight 815, which veered off-course and unexpectedly crashed on a remote Pacific island. As players explore locations from the show and interact with its main characters, such as Kate (Evangeline Lily, pictured left) and Jack (Matthew Fox), they will learn more about their character's past, which will likely lead to previously unrealized connections with other survivors. Along the way, players will face puzzles and many of the same challenges seen on the show, including the angry dust cloud-esque smoke monster.

"Ubisoft has worked closely with ABC Studios and the show's producers to create a compelling storyline that has the same mystery, adventure and intensity fans of the show have come to expect from the Lost brand,” said Ubisoft senior marketing director Helene Juguet.

"The sense of adventure and suspense that we strive for in the show is also captured in the Lost video game," revealed show executive producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse. "Ubisoft has done a fantastic job and come up with a game that is visually amazing and imaginative both on its own and as an extension of the world of the show."

The Lost game is yet another example of Ubisoft's increased focus on licensed titles, which includes games based on James Cameron's Avatar, Robert Zemeckis' Beowulf, and NBC and Tim Kring's Heroes.

There's a post here http://testpattern.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2007/07/25/289645.aspx (WARNING: Season 4 spoiler) that covers what is supposed to be the biggest part of this Lost panel.

I hate Michael, but I'm interested in seeing how his character will be handled since he's probably going to become public enemy #1 for the survivors. Gratuitous use of spoiler tags so nobody can guess what's behind the blanks if they don't really want to know.

I had a feeling that Michael and Walt had been picked up by the people who the others were afraid of at the end of last season.

I agree with this. I've already forgotten, but didn't we see Walt again recently, if for maybe a single scene?? I thought I remember a random Walt sighting somewhere in season 3

He told Locke to get up (out of the pit of Dharma bodies) after Ben had shot him.
