EA Montreal's co-op-focused action title Army of Two will arrive on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on November 15 of this year, publisher Electronic Arts announced. Following what is said to be the "politically charged" exploits of two private security contractors, Army of Two encourages teamwork between either an AI or online partner across its various missions. Composer Trevor Morris, who assisted in the music production for films such as Bad Boys II and Pirates of the Caribbean, provided the score for the game.

I'm not so sure how "politically charged" this game will be. I've heard mixed messages, such as the producer of the game, Reid Schneider was quoted in a 1up interview that they aren't making any kind of statement about the Iraq war or privatization of military forces for corporate profit. They simply thought it'd make a compelling contextual backdrop for a co-op game. Other places have said that the story will feature some of the characters questioning the motivations of their employers. We'll have to see when it's released.

I, for one, am quite excited about this game and what it will bring to co-op. The real test here is going to be topping Gears' co-op experience.
