Missile Command Fires on Xbox Live Arcade
by Carlos Bergfeld, Jul 02, 2007 1:27pm PDTAtari's trackball space shooter Missile Command drops onto Xbox Live Arcade Wednesday morning, Microsoft announced today. Selling for 400 Microsoft Points ($5), it includes both an updated 3D rendition and the arcade original. The 3D version features the arcade release's gameplay, with a new audio-visual overhaul. The unlucky souls of the planet Zardon still need help defending against an ever-increasing onslaught of Krytolian missiles. One or two sharpshooters, sans trackballs, can play locally or over Xbox Live. This release won't be the first 3D Missile Command. Virtuality Entertainment released Missile Command 3D, a first-person update to the classic, for the ill-fated Atari Jaguar in 1995.
