I'm really hoping they push that "ball in socket" gameplay even further this time.

The "car in hole" gameplay was pretty amazing too; I'd like to see that expanded upon as well.

  Being given something other than "Run here, shoot these guys, run here, shoot these guys" is fine with me. At least they try to keep things (somewhat) fresh and interrupt the flow every now and then. Shooters that rely on shooting alone bore me to tears.
