Lord of the Rings Online Update Plans

I think they did a good job making the world a bigger part of the game. The deeds, titles, and traits offer up a different style of play than the typical loot-based mmo. I'm not sure if this game has what it takes to pull in those power gamers, but in a way I'm actually hoping it doesn't. Those are typically the type of gamers that ruin games by breaking it down to min-maxing and loot whoring. Or at least they do for me.

I think an item is much cool if it has history behind it, I did some interesting questing behind it, and it fits into the world. That, to me, is much more important than stats (although it should have good stats, too).

I preordered this game, which is unusual for me; I usually end up disliking games I beta test (which is why I rarely beta test anymore). LOTRO was unexpected, however. Using the combat skills of the hunter and running around middle earth collecting traits and exploring has been really, really compelling to me.

Started up the beta today to see if I want to pick it up, having fun with it so far. It's nice to get away from the Disney color palettes of WoW, and the general stupidity of the average wow player. EQ2 is definitely larger and more polished, but I'm enjoying the Middle Earth aspect. It really is a shame they were not with EA to get the license for the movie visuals :(

It's too bad this game has no pvp, except monster play. All my friends are skipping, so am I.

LotRO is so boring, it's almost a step down from current and last-gen MMO's. WoW and City of Heroes are more fun than this game. Hell, Anarchy Online is more fun than LotRO.

The LOTR universe is one that has so much potential for breathtaking locales and stunning scenary, but in my experience with the beta of LOTRO I have been left sorely disappointed. It's like all the great stuff in the books and movies is conveniently unavailable.

I think this game has potential, but it's a long ways from it. They are going to have to really step up the world development before I wouldn't feel cheated every time I played it. And considering what they have so far, that's a great many updates away. =(

So I played it a bit and it's quite fun.

Too bad it's a little step back from WoW quality wise as many things are unpolished.

They should have invested another million and made it a real competitor.

The depth of the game will decide if I'll continue playing it.

Another lands? Well im not suprised given that the total "world" u get with the game is about half the size of kalimdor but without the vastly different terrain.

I played the beta, I didn't find anything interesting in this game sadly, at all.

I think this game is really fun. It's very polished from what I've seen so far (level 15) and the tie in to the movies is just butter.
The many many ways you can advance your character is cool. People that aren't digging in beta I think aren't taking the time to enjoy the game for what it is. But to each his own.
I know me and my friends are hooked and are gonna play it.

i play all(most) MMORPGs. not too excited about this but there should be some fun times (i hope)

it's pretty awesome, but seeing as I have already played alot of WoW and asherons call 2 it isn't that interesting anymore.
