    Recently I upgraded my system, so now I'm going back and playing all my games that previously ran like crap. HL2:ep1 looks and runs glorious now @ 1680x1050 with the highest settings the menu allows. I'm stuck though, I'm at the part where you have to fight off waves of various types of zombies/headcrabs in the dark while waiting for the elevator. When the elevator finally arrives I jump in and try to push the button but nothing happens. I'm stuck in the elevator with all the zombies trying to get in to kill me but they can't, weird.

    I'm also replaying Quake4. Once again this game looks so good and is now so much better with smooth frame rates. My only issue with this game is where the hell is the multiplayer community?? :( and punkbuster can suck a dick. I hate that thing it kicks me out of a game after a fresh install of q4 with all the latest updates, trust me punkbuster I'm not cheating.

    Oddly enough, the one PC game I have been playing the most recently besides wow is Dues Ex. I bought it through steam. This game is still so much fun, I never finished it my first time through back in the day, but this time I vow to finish it. Right now I'm spending most my skill points in heavy weapons, computer hacking, and maybe pistols. I haven't really decided.

    There was a good Penn and Teller's Bullshit on Wal-Mart recently that I haven't seen discussed here. As usual for Bullshit it was entirely biased, completely hilarious, and I pretty much agree with them. Now whats interesting here is they are not saying that Wal-Mart is bullshit, but instead that Wal-Mart hatred is bullshit. Most everyone on the shack loves making fun of the lower or working class (I'm not sure whats PC these days) and their perception of the average Wal-Mart shopper so I'm curious to hear what others have to say on the matter.

    In typical fashion they make some silly claims such as, to some extent, actually defending sweat shops. O_o They do only somewhat mention the fair labor laws they've broken (and money paid because of it), and don't recall any mention of anti-competitive pricing.

    Either way its interesting. For some reason they seem to allow fairly lengthy clips of the show on google video for quite some time (things get periodically deleted, usually from older seasons), but right now you can still see a good chunk of the episode if you search for it.....

    Since we're on the topic of televisions...

    Say you had room for a big ol' projector screen, around 8 feet of wall space that's perfect for it, but the room it's in will be next to impossible to completely darken during the day, no ambient light at night when most television viewing is done, but if daytime television were to be done, how ugly would it be? also, how silly is 1080p in a house without cable television or HD DVD? do console games look any good on big screens?

    The other serious contender is a 50" plasma TV, which will look great, but will be dwarfed against a wall made for a big beautiful picture.

    TLDR, convince me to buy a projector!
