So Shivering Isles is out now and someone has to fight back against you people with your Cloud Strife swords and realistic dude models with meaty bits flopping around in the breeze. That means we need another Oblivion mod post, and mine is a list of addons that make the game a nicer place to be in yet don't make any changes the original gameplay.

Tomorrow Kmart is having a sale on XBOX 360 core units for AU$399 (they're AU$499 at Harvey Norman for comparison). I know it's only a core, but that's pretty cheap.

So I was tapped in the last minute to photograph a small fashion show being put on here on campus. For some reason I am really nervous about it and have never really done anything like this. I normally do lots of live concerts and stuff like that ,so it should be a somewhat similar type of deal, but I was wondering if anyone had any tips for shooting something in this type of environment. I'm using a Nikon d50, sb-600 flash, 50mm prime f1.8 and the kit lense 18-55mm (f/3.5). Any tips/things I should watch out for or know?

I'd say, on average (gross generalization here) that based on what I've seen, 80-90 percent of adult PC owners out there have royally fucked up PCs with massive spyware infestations, crazy toolbar situations, security suites that fuck up their PCs, too little RAM and a slow ass PC because of it. Sound right?
It's also surprising the lengths some of these spyware peeps go to. Self-replicating hidden files in the system32 directory, and such. It's some fucked up, repugnant shit.

Recently put together a machine and still haven't gotten USB 2.0 to work.
I have an EVGA nVidia 680i SLI mobo.
I installed motherboard drivers, then fully patched XP, then tried installing newer motherboard drivers, then checked BIOS(it was set to USB 2.0/1.1) and then... I alerted shack... please halp
So the drum kit is the killer, eh? You can get GHII and two guitars for around $140-150, so they're saying adding a mic (not a huge cost there) and drum kit is another $150??

I'm learning this stuff, so go easy on me please. I've got 2 tables in a parent/child relationship. The parent has a DATETIME "Datetime" and an INT primary key "Id" (not null, auto_increment). The child has an INT "parent_id" and a VARCHAR(20) "Name".
Let's say I wish to select all parents whose MONTH(Datetime) = 4 and from that, I wish to print out the "Name". Is there a more efficient way than (pseudocode):
array = query("Select Id from parent where MONTH(Datetime) = 4");
foreach(array,i) {
print query("Select Name from child where parent_id = $i"
}
Can I join those somehow? In theory performance is not critical as this is a local, seldom used call, but I'm trying to learn not to be an idiot with this stuff. FP goes up in 5 minutes, I bet

I put together a new computer. Core2duo, 8800 Gts, running XP. Pretty standard stuff. When I go to install the video card drivers, it gets halfway and then my monitor goes into standby. If I restart, windows finishes loading and then goes into standby.
Starting up in safemode works fine. Starting up with VGA enabled also works, until I change a graphics setting (resolution/colour depth/etc) then it goes into standby again.
Any ideas?

I just found out about "Snipping Tool" in Vista (Start->Accessories->Snipping Tool)
No more need to Print Screen and paste into MSPaint when you need to take a screenshot. It's the little things like this that have made me love Vista.
